The Continuation of the Shopping Arcade within the O2 Arena

The new outlet centre would provide over 80 new retail outlets with a combined area of circa 400,000 sq ft. To facilitate this we were to provide a raft slab, ground beams and pile caps, deep drainage, six concrete lift cores with restricted working head height, internal paving and feature stairs.

Whilst the majority of the works were within the substructure and superstructure package we received a late instruction to form a reception desk from concrete.

For this, we produced sample panels to achieve the desired finish and experimented with concrete mixes, colours and placement techniques to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome. Smaller aggregate, increased sand content, lined forms all resulted in a polished finish with no visual signs of fixing.

Having completed 4 schemes in quick succession, to an exemplary level, we were awarded Contractor of the Year from ISG, 2017.
